Post Race feast!

After the race, I rewarded myself a nice sport massage 😆 at this calming place

It felt great. The massage therapist used the deep pressure technique on some key big muscles. It felt a bit painful at first but definitely helped to relax the muscle. 🙂

I had a dinner to prepare, so not too much time to nap. but I was super excited because I haven’t cooked a chinese feast for a while.

I made 8 dishes and a soup for 7 people including me and Star. They’re new co-workers of Star. 5 hungry young guys to fed! 😆

红烧肉: this the favorite dish of ALL time and for EVERYONE, made with pork. It was a big success again this time. In just 5 min after dinner started, it was gone! 😉

辣椒小抄: green and red peppers, chili and pork a la Sichuan

山药排骨汤: pork and chinese yam soup

I thought it was a lot of food but you know what? These guys finished them ALL!!! I was so happy to see all the empty plates! 😆 Second accomplishment of the day! 😀

I bet these dishes are new to you because they’re not usually served in restaurants. So if you’d like to know the recipe or how-to, let me know, I’d love to spread the word about real chinese food. 🙂

Ask me!

I got the Big G Whole Grain Awareness Challenge and a “Grains of Goodness” gift pack through MyBlogSpark

Stay tune for the review (I already tried some and like them a lot) 😉

Into food!

For lunch I had leftover spinach&black bean& tofu pudding. Few of you asked me how I made it. Really simple, I just combined frozen spinach, frozen corns, firm tofu, black bean, flax meal, nutritional yeast, eggs and S+P. Bake for 40 min at 350 F and ready to serve! It’s a nutritious, tasty and easy to make meal! 🙂

It took me 20 min to eat this because there were so many small fishbones 😦 Not fun and dangerous.

Q1: What’s your favorite kind of fish? Mine is salmon.

Q2: Is there any food that you enjoy more when you eat alone?

Announcement & living with paradoxes

Announcement!

Remember my semi-failed attempt making buns? Well…. this is going to change. I will be able to make perfect risen buns and more!!!  What about Mango Bagels?

10cc511d37b

and whole grains buns?

I’m getting something from barstools to help me on that! 😆 Stay tune! More exciting baking/steaming projects to come! 😀

——————————

As I read this article, I realized that we all live with paradoxes and it’s OKAY!

Accept myself, but expect more of myself. This is a constant struggle for me. I want to improve in a lot of things but at same time don’t want to be perfectionist.

Strive to be emotionally self-sufficient so I can connect better with other people. This is something that I am currently working on. Not to expect others to solve my emotional problems.

Remember that control and mastery are key elements of happiness; and so are novelty and challenge. As we age, we tend to stay in our comfort zone and neglect to explore new territories.

The days are long, but the years are short. So true!
