Life: weekly update

  • Last week I submitted two papers that I’ve been working for the last 5 months. It was a great relieve to finally get approved by my manager after several rounds of revisions. Now now I’m in a little break before starting a new project soon.
  • More meetings related to job-searching. I’m finalizing this process (fortunately!) and I hope I get to the unit I want. I’ve been lucky to be assigned to where I am now, where I have 100% manage of my time and work program and I didn’t have to travel. From next assignment (3-5 year) I will be doing real work, or the main business of our organization. I’ll be working with others doing projects, meeting other countries’ authorities and traveling. Yes, that part I’m not too excited about because although I love traveling, traveling for work is another story. I have coworkers that started with me, and they’ve been traveling 70% of the time since we started! I wonder if I can do that. I hope I don’t travel more than 4 times a year! Finger crossed. Except for the traveling part, I’m quite excited about what’s going to happen next. It’s a complete new world for me and I’m sure I’ll learn tons.
  • Having Star on a business trip (until next Wednesday) I’ve been hanging a lot with mom. It’s quite nice.
  • Saturday: mom and I went to outlet to buy some gifts for her friends in Shanghai (she’s going back in two week). I got one shirt (Jcrew) and one dress (Banana Republic).

I like the combination of orange and navy blue. And strips are in fashion this season!

  • In the afternoon we went to Georgetown because I wanted to try some items in Zara. Unfortunately nothing fit me well so I got nothing. But I ordered some items online later.
  • Sunday: I invited two girl friends to come over for brunch. Look what I prepared for 3 of us and my mom

this dress is actually a pijama, but the pattern is wearable outdoor. I like how soft it is and it was only $20.

Girly: purchases from Orlando

I dunno know why it took me a week to post this… I dunno why I have a long to-do list everyday while being on vacation. I dunno why my parents presence made me so busy although I don’t cook and clean anymore. Anyway… moving on! This is just a partial shopping haul mom and I did atΒ Orlando.

We got four Coach bags! 😯 I never liked Coach bags until this time. Maybe I didn’t look them carefully enough?

#1: the color of this bag is between beige and coral, a little shiny which makes it chic!

#2: this bag has a shiny dark gray color. I think it’s eleganc and glamourous.

#3: a very summery color

#4: this one is too shinny for my taste but my mom loves is.

because we got four bags, we got two free of this

I got two pairs of shoes. This one from Aerosoles. I’ve been trying to find a pair of flat for walking and this one is really comfy and pretty.

This one from Tod’s. The most expensive pair of shoes I’ve ever bought!

A dress from maxstudio.com

two blouses from Ann Taylor.

and a white denim short from Guess

I love this outfit! πŸ™‚

My mom also got two pairs of shoes and two shirts.

I’d say it’s “dangerous” to put us in a outlet together! We can shop nonstop! πŸ˜†

Girly: purchase 3.21-3.28

My mom is here!!! πŸ˜† And she’s cleaning the apartment! πŸ˜‰ The good thing about my mom is that she doesn’t criticize why I don’t keep my place cleaner, she just do it for me! πŸ˜€

I haven’t done much shopping last week but the week before I did some and I want to share them with you.

Here are four items I got from ASOS taking advantage of the 20% off.

Note: if you pay with US credit card, you have to pay 3% to the credit card company because ASOS is a UK store. πŸ‘Ώ

ASOS Sheer Cropped Camisole $28.69

I like the color. I used to have a beige camisole very similar to this one that I love.

ASOS PETITE Exclusive Super Sexy Skinny White Jeans $43.03

I don’t have any white skinny jeans so I got it. I wasn’t sure about the size because UK has a different sizing system. I got US0, let’s see how it fits me.

ASOS Super Soft Silver Blue Skinny Jean – Light Blue / US 2 $43.03

isn’t this color cute? No further reason needed to order it! πŸ˜‰

And my favorite item is

ASOS Cotton Trapeze Sundress – White / US 2 $33.17

I was hesitant ordering it because it’s so girly like for teenagers and I’m a 30 yrs old woman (although my hubby calls me little girl), but I felt I had to get it, even if I only wear it at home.

Now, from ideeli

GUSTTO Balma Clutch in Dark Lime $55

Annie is really into clutch. I have none and I find this one really chic.

TART Ryan Blazer in snow $49

I don’t like buying work cloth but I didn’t dislike this blazer, so I got it. What a reason!

BCBGeneration Fray I in dessert $69

You know me, I’m shoe-holic. And I’m building my 100-pair collection πŸ˜‰

CALVIN KLEIN Karissa in Chino $59

This pair would be perfect for work, beige matches with everything.

Okay. That’s all for today. Now that my mom is here, she’s my favorite shopping buddy, so more shopping in store will come πŸ˜‰

Q: Are you cloth-holic? shoe-holic? bag-holic?
