Life: weekly updates

  • We met the baby this week. It was the most real thing we’ve experience since we discover I’m pregnant! πŸ˜†
  • I booked ticket to Argentina! Star is going for business, my BFF is visiting her family in Buenos Aires, so I decided to go there to meet her! It has been 6 months since I started working and haven’t take any vacation. I don’t feel the need because the work is not stressful and I rest well on the weekends. But the fact that I’m going to meet my BFF, her husband andΒ her mom really made me decide to go there! We met 16 years ago in Buenos Aires. Now we both live abroad, it’s nice to meet again in Buenos Aires.
  • Saturday: we invited a couple friend and Adam for dinner. I prepared a big spread of food for them.

It was a nice dinner. Everyone enjoyed the food a lot. Once again, they made me proud of my cooking skills! πŸ˜‰

  • Sunday: low key. It’s raining so we stayed home. Napping, watching TV and blogging. Maybe we’ll go for a walk later.

Almond butter tutorial & accident mess!

How was everyone’s Monday? Mine was kind of blah~ I worked until 2PM at the office and had to call it a day because the insurance company asked to pick up my belongings in my crashed car. Look how bad was the accident



Bye bye my Snoopy Car, as Carmen used to call it because I had all the interior decorated with snoopy.

Other accident of the day: I broke a minor with my elbow 😦


Anyway. Let’s move on to the AB tutorial. I know many of you know how to make it, but I still got people asking me how I make it. So here’s the tutorial πŸ˜‰
Roast Almond for 15 min at 350F (or just raw if you want to make raw AB). Each time that I make, I use 2 cups of almonds.


Use food processor and blend for 5 min. you’ll get this consistency… like almond flour


grind for another 5-10 min pausing in between to scrap down

At certain point you’ll get it forming ball like this


keep grounding and you’ll get the butter consistency


Add salt. Don’t add any liquid sweetener if you want a really creamy butter because it will make it solid like a paste. I’ve tried adding vanilla, maple, raisin, etc. Whatever I add in other than salt, I don’t get the butter consistency that I like

I use 1/2 of it to make ABU using almond milk and 2 tbsp of coconut butter

ABU is runny, less dense and suitable for dipping and dressing! πŸ™‚

Lazy to be pretty! :(

I want to be pretty, I want to look like Diva, I want to feel confident all the time. That was my reaction after watching Erin’s last video. She is so pretty and so into the makeup business. πŸ˜‰ I wish I know all the techniques. But I’m such a lazy lady!!! If I don’t go anywhere, I don’t bother to dress and put makeup. If I have to go somewhere, I spend exactly 10 min in deciding what to wear and makeup. Obviously, the result is mediocre. 😦 What to do? Does anyone has the same concern?

Q1: Do you wear makeup everyday? How did you learn that?

Anyway, how was your Saturday? Our was nice! We went to Leesburg outlet and got some good deals at Polo and other gifts for my parents’ friends in China. These are my purchases: two shirts for me and two for Star



I prepared breakfast for the family… hehehe…. I can’t stay away from the kitchen for long. πŸ˜‰

For me, I made pancake. I was running out of oatbran so I used rolled oats


The texture was more chewy. I think I prefer oat bran for it.


We packed snacks because we don’t like eating at food court and don’t want to waste $$


Back home, totally satisfied with our purchases! πŸ˜€ We spent the afternoon watching TV and taking long naps! hahaha….. so relaxing.

As you can see… chinese food is reigning in this house now! I don’t mind… since I haven’t had mom cooked meals for almost a year! πŸ˜€ I hope you guys enjoy seeing it too!
