Last week I said I was enjoying a lot my meals, well… this week was the opposite. I didn’t enjoy the food I was eating, I didn’t know what else I could eat, I was bored with the usual suspects. 😦 I don’t know why…. it just happened.
Breakfast was the only meal that I still like.Still enjoying a lot the Peach/greek yogurt/protein cake “mess”
last serving of fish ball, napa cabbage and dry shrimp soup
sauteed iceberg lettuce
winter melon, tomato, bamboo and black fungus soup
store-bought japanese seaweed salad
sautéed chinese mustard greens with oyster mushroom
purple laver, tomato and egg soup
Then I got tired/bored of chinese food. Besides I had some digestive issues (bloating, constipation and fullness) this week, I had to switch to smaller meals.
I got this WW Tuscan Paine from Trader Joes
made a sandwich with tomato paste, 1/2 avocado and cheddar cheese
grilled a bit
served with tomato (which I love during this season, they’re so sweet!)
enjoyed this meal. More sandwiches to come! 🙂
Q: Do you get tired of your usual food sometimes? What do you do then?
We found a new chinese restaurant close by that we all enjoy a lot, Asian Delight Restaurant in Fairfax. We went there twice and both times the food was fantastic.
The first time we ordered japanese tofu with mushrooms
sautéed chinese mustard with garlic
beef and chinese radish pot
steamed white salmon
and sauteed lotus root with fish balls (my favorite!)
the second time (last Saturday) we went back with Qiao and we ordered tofu with salty fish
a soup made with white asparagus, egg white and fake crab meat
sauteed lotus root, this time without the fish balls…. and we all agreed that with fish ball was better!

and shrimp with green peppers and onions
as complementary dessert, we had aduki bean soup with rice balls, delish~
we’re definitely going back! It’s one of the few chinese restaurants that I like!

It’s funny that this week I have a lot of pics store in my camera, maybe because I’m trying new food and I want to share it with you. 🙂 So this week’s post will be food intensive! 😆
I’ve been obsessed with this dish last week (4 times in a week!). It’s made with brown rice, bok choy, shiitake mushroom and chinese sausage. similar recipe here
a final ingredient that is a must is this chili sauce
accompanied with a tomato, egg and seaweed soup
that was my dinner
lunch at work: I had this combo twice (3 turkey meatball, greek salad and roasted squash)
accompanied with a thick piece of multi-grain bread with raisin
Okay… I had this again
accompanied with a tofu, green and shiitake soup
and again! this time it was a mixture of leftover dishes, rice and glass noodles.
On Saturday I cooked a chinese food dinner for two friends
pork ribs soup with chinese yam
chinese chives with pork
bok choy with chili
sauteed celery, black fungus and dry shrimps
red sauced pork
and spicy whole tilapia
I enjoy cooking for my friends and family from time to time so I can keep up with my culinary skills! 😉
