Food: comfort food at home

After traveling few weeks, I crave homemade food. Simple, clean, homemade food is comfort food for me. Since I loved so much the japanese bento we had in Oahu, I was determined to recreate some and start packing bento lunches to work.

I grabbed few essential ingredients:

vegetable mix to make Onigiri (rice bowls)

Hondashi, an essential ingredients in japanese cooking

IMG_7013

seaweed to wrap Onigiri

IMG_7014

mirin, another essential ingredient

IMG_7015

Hijiki, a type of seaweed commonly used in japanese dishes

As I mentioned before, I fell in love with Okara salad so I had to make it. I used the pulp from making soy milk

I followed closely toย recipe and voila, the end product. I’m proud to say that it tastes almost identical to the one I had in Hawaii. ๐Ÿ™‚
