Sofia: first time at the Little Gym

I saw baby gym a while ago somewhere and was intrigued what it was.  After googling I found The Little Gym which is 10 min driving distance from our house. They offer a free introductory class so we happily went to try it out. 🙂 Sofia is almost 6 months so we went to the Bugs class (child and parents for 4-10 months old baby).

we were the first to arrive. Sofia had a crappy morning nap so she was not as excited as I’d wished.

The place is relatively small, one big room with different activities place for all the babies.

Soon enough babies started to arrive. Our first little friend is also a 6 months old baby girl Finn

we sit and did some shaking and introduction

some arm exercises for babies and moms to warm up

and some funny poses to practice their neck muscles

a inflamable gigantic boat. Supposedly to allow babies to explore and reach for things. Sofia was only interested in bitting them

some rolls (at this point, she started to get sleepy I think)

practice stand up like a pro

final activities: sit up with a ball. Again Sofia just wanted to eat it

and bubbles!!!!

Overall it was fun but I wouldn’t pay >20$ for a 45 min class like this. She’s still too young to get a sense of what’s going on and start socializing with other babies. Maybe we’ll try again when she’s one year old. 🙂

  1. Oh my goodness, I love the photos of Sofia biting the toys and balls! Maybe it’s good indication that she’s going to be an adventurous eater? 😉

I think the concept behind Little Gym is wonderful–it seems like a good idea to socialize babies with other babies in an interactive environment. However, I agree–$20 seems a bit pricey for a regular activity. You could probably create a similar experience with a group of mom friends for free!

Happy Wednesday (now Thursday–it’s late!), Coco! xoxo

Looks like fun! But you’re right…a little expensive.
