Hello my friends!!!! It has been another week without touching this blog, that no matter how busy life gets, I’ll always keep a room in my heart for it! I really admire people who has a full-time job and a family, and still be able to blog everyday! I need to learn to do that!!!
I started working three weeks ago. The first two weeks were orientation/training. It was fun to know all the 34 people who entered with me in the same program. We’re such a diverse people! They are from UK, Nigeria, France, Malaysia, China, Colombia, Bolivia, Brazil, Australia, Austria, Ukraine, etc. They are not all economists, maybe half, and the other half are specialist in Energy, Infrastructure, Water and etc. The only common thing we have is that we’re all under 32 yrs. old! 😆 Other than that…. I’d say…. they’re all very very nice people, very friendly and very smart! I feel so lucky to be part of this group.
This last week I finally joined my current unit. I didn’t know where I’d be working for the first year until last Monday! 😯 And I got the offer in March! And the best part is that I got into the best place!!! Well…. it’s the best for me because it’s the research department- Macro group.I’d never thought I’d end up there! Really really happy!!!
I met with my manager last Monday, he’s a great guy, very senior in the organization. We had coffee, he explains to me what the division does and what I’d be doing. What am I going to do? WHATEVER I WANT!!!! 😆 hahahhaha…. well… whatever I want to do with research! That’s the best thing it can happen to any researcher! Let me tell you, in just a week…. I came up with 3 potential projects already! It’s amazing! Now that I have total freedom and not so much pressure to deliver something right away… I’m more productive than ever! Ideas just fly out!!! I can’t be happier!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I LOVE MY JOB!!!! Such a blast to go work everyday knowing that I’ll manage my day, I’ll have lunch and coffee with friends and co-authors, I’ll go to seminar and conferences that interest me, and I’ll be research topics that I want! People….. pitch me! Is this for real? or am I in a dream? seriously…. I can’t believe it!!!
I’m still trying to make it more efficient because as it is, I feel sleepless. I don’t get more than 6.5 hrs a day and I need to get more to function properly. Today, Sat, I woke up after a 10-hrs long sleep. I think that’s a sign of being sleep deprived.
6:00- alarm wakes me up
7:00- 8:00- workout at the gym
8:00-8:20- shower and dress while preparing the breakfast
8:20-8:30- eat breakfast
8:30-8:45- makeup and organize the purse
9:00- arrive the office (Star has been driving to the office for the last 3 weeks! What a lovely husband)
18:00 or 18:30- leave office
19:00- arrive home
19-19:30- prepare dinner
20:00- Star arrives and we have dinner
21-23:00- catch up with Star, blog posts and do some “research” for something BIG!
23:00-24:00- go to the bed and try to fall sleep
We will announce something very BIG very soon!!! We’re extremely excited about it!
(no, it does not involve baby! just in case if you’re wondering ;))
As you can imagine… no time to create sophisticate meals with a schedule like that. Lunch is always at work. Fortunately our cafeteria is VERY good. A lot of varieties: indian, chinese, vietnamese, japanese, sandwich, salad, grill, pizza. All you can imagine basically! So… I’ve been eating good food without having to cook much 😉
Some pics of the food that I did prepare:
parfait made with pumpkin puree, fage 2%, raspberries, cocoa powder and almond butter
mmmmmmmmm………… so good
oatbran with blueberries, coconut flour and flaxmeal
black rice porridge + almond butter
accompanied by a PB sandwich
For Star’s breakfast: every two days, I’d prepare a new pot of porridge. This time I used black rice, white rice, dry longan and peanuts
I blended it and add a tbsp of brown sugar
served with a plain bun
I made a vegetarian tandori
used the zanzibar tandori masala, eggplant, chickpeas, tomatoes, bell peppers, spinach and onions.
served with polenta.
stir-fry veggies with tofu with thai sauce, served with brown rice. I had this too many times and still love it!
chinese mustard greens sauteed with oyster mushroom (obsessed with it!)
soup made with winter melon, tomatoes and bamboo.
Okay my friends. Let me leave you for now. Weekend is precious, to-do list is long! 🙂 Hope you have a wonderful weekend! 🙂
Q1: What’s your favorite place in your home?
Q2: What are you cooking this weekend?
