In just 1.5 days we saw Leon, Zebra, Elephant, Hyena, Monkey, Hippopotami, Crocodile, Giraffe, Antelope, Leopard, Wild Beast, Buffalo, etc. Either we were lucky or our guide Luis is really good. On the first day we saw Leons hunting a zebra LIVE and Monkey getting a baby antelope. The second day, we had a leon walking by our truck! I was sooooo scared! The leon was just a meter away from me!!! π―
Antelopes
Wild beast
I can’t remember the name of this big bird/duck but it is pretty unique
another bird with colorful feather
Buffalos like to stare at us when we take pics
a lot of them!
Crocodile
a gecko
elephants
look that baby elephant, so cute!
a lot of giraffes (I think I have >200 pic of giraffes now)
to show you how close we were with the animals
I like this pic a lot!
they just walk among us
in addition to see the animals, the scenery is amazing too!
A hippo pool
a dead hippo and a crocodile approaching to see if it’s ready to eat. Hippo and crocodile live in the same place. They can live peacefully because when hippo is alive, crocodile can’t eat it because its skin is too hard. When hippo dies, after soaking in water for 1-2 days, its skin becomes softer, i.e., eatable for crocodile.
Hyena, the most ugly animal we saw. They only eat dead animals.
a pregnant one
Leon, one of the big five.
We saw a leon attacking a zebra LIVE!!!
and then more than a dozen of leon appeared to the scene
and all that happened with a bunch of witness!
then next day, a leon walked by our track. It was soooo close!
they crossed the road as we were not there!
Leopard
We were late to see the real immigration, but we saw some. Different animals were lined up and walked slowly.
Monkeys
a poor baby antelope was captured
Zebras
they had no problem crossing the road, even some baby feeding on the way
how cute!
oh… did I mention that we had visitors besides of the pool of our hotel?
Last breakfast at the hotel before we depart to Moshi to start the most incredible hike! π
We were 11 for the safari but not all of them went for Kili. They surely regret now π
Posts about Kili next! π
All the animals are beautiful! I really like giraffes. I don’t think I would want to see an animal get attacked, though. I know it’s part of life, but that would make me SO sad! I can’t believe the lion’s came so close! They must’ve been curious…. π
wow wow wow! what a rare opportunity to see animals in a natural habit! absolutely breathtaking. i’m sure this will be an experience you will never forget! i love the photos of the zebras!
how fun coco!
