Travel: Arriving Tanzania

HELLO!!!!! I’m back to the US last Saturday! As I mentioned here, I have many travel plans this summer and this time I went to Tanzania for 2 weeks and it’s the best trip I’ve EVER had! Spectacular, Incredible, Amazing, Exciting, Adventurous and HAPPY!!! I feel wordless to express how much I enjoyed this trip! In two weeks, we did Safari in Serengeti, we climbed the highest mountain in Africa, Kilimanjaro (We all succeed in getting to the Uhuru peak at 5895 m!!!!) and we spent 3 days in Zanzibar doing beach, parasailing, dolphins and visiting theΒ Stone Town! πŸ˜†

I have a lot to recap and a lot of pics to show (I have more than 2000 pics in my computer!). Let me first guide you from the first two days in Tanzania.

On 8/4 Sarah (girl on the left), Estelle (center) and I took KLM flight to Kilimanjaro. We stopped in Amsterdam. Here are we, all fresh and excited!

Our first night at Mount Meru Hotel in Arusha

the rest of the group already arrived the day before. We celebrated our upcoming trip with some champagne!

the next morning we were taken by this mini bus to the local airport. Luggage on the top!

look this “fancy” departure lounge

and we had our packed lunch

A small local aircraft just for us, I’d say private jet?

We arrived Serengeti airport

our safari trucks

our half day safari started right there! πŸ™‚

……. we saw many many animals!!! Let me delay those pics for tomorrow! πŸ˜‰

and then we arrived our luxury hotel at Serengeti National Park:Β Bilila Lodge Kempinski

We were received with champagne and porter to carry our luggage

A terrace and plunge pool overlooking a watering hole, where we coud watch the wildlife.DSCN1563.JPG

It’s an oasis of calm and comfort!

mosquito is a serious problem in Tanzania

We had a full day of safari the next day. More adventures!!! πŸ˜€

Will continue soon with loads of animal pics! πŸ™‚
