Food: meat and salad

Last night was the bachelor party dinner of Cesar (the 3rd one from left), one of my best friends. He’s getting married on 5/28 in Argentina. So excited for him!!! 😆 He’s flying back today so we celebrated it last night at Divino Lounge, an argentinean restaurant.

Nothing better than a good meal with good friends! 😀

Since it’s an argentinean restaurant, meat is the star of the night. Star and I ordered the tradicional argentine parrillada ( for 2 ) that came with 2 short ribs, 2 argentine sausages, skirt steak, blood sausage and sweetbreads served with french fries, mixed green salad and chimichurri sauce.

as you can see there was a LOT of MEAT!!! I had short ribs and skirt steak. They were GOOD!

Star also had sausage and blood sausage.

Although a lot of people love it, I can’t eat it! It grosses me out by just looking at it now.

We ended up with Flan with Dulce de Leche, a typical argentinean dessert.

Let’s talk about SALAD! I’m obsessed with this salad dressing.

Spicy tahini dressing, inspired by Mama Pea’s Kale Sunshine Salad

for 1 serving as meal

  • 1-2 tbsp of tahini
  • 2 tbsp of rice vinager or plum vinegar (I like plum vinegar more)
  • 1-2 tbsp of water
  • 1 tbsp minced garlic
  • S+P
  • red pepper
  • pinch of stevia
The first day I used italian kale

I follow Mama Pea’s method by removing all the thick stem and chop it to bite size.

Add the dressing

let it sit (soften) in the fridge for 30 min. Add chopped tomatoes from the farmer market and tofu. Serve!

I LOVE it!!! I was amazed of how tasty it is. I think anything that uses tahini is wonderful, but adding the cayenne pepper takes it to another level! 😀

The next day I made it again using rainbow collard greens instead of the kale

tasty too but less spicy.

And today I made it with baby lettuces, tomatoes and 2 microwaved eggs.

I like the salad with italian kale the most because it’s more spicy and chewy. The lettuce became a little bit watery and collard green was kind of boring.

To complete the meal, I have two steamed corns!

I really like this dressing. It’s so easy to make and it makes a “bland” salad so amazing! You can add whatever ingredients for the salad (I wouldn’t add ingredients that it’s strong in flavor like tuna, salmon because I think it’s better to have one strong flavor). The key is let the salad sit in the fridge for few minutes and the cayenne pepper.

Q: Are you in salad mood lately? What’s your current favorite dressing?
