Running seems to be my new hobbie and stress reliever. And I’m getting faster! 😀 Yesterday morning I run 8km, 38.40”, 7.47min/mile. 😀 So, to protect my knee, I need a new pair of shoes! 😉 I love my new ipod with Nike+ that records distance and speed for me 🙂 I know Maggie is having fun with it too!

First of all, congrats on being in the news! I think that’s really exciting, and I don’t think there’s anything wrong with letting people know (sounds like word is getting around fast anyway). You’ve worked really hard on our research, and it’s your time to shine!
I also have the ipod + Nike tool. Just make sure you calibrate it with a known distance. Mine was waaay off when I first started using it. A good place is a high school track. As for shoes, I’ve never been a huge Nike fan, so I’m afraid I’m not much help. They are pretty, though! I love Brooks shoes, especially the Adrenalines.
I would go with the second one, since you are running so much now, you really need to protect your knees. I read in a fitness mag where they have recommendations for running shoes. I will dig it out for you 😀
the porridge looks really yummy ! you put lotus roots power in it?
My husband always tells me that investing in a good pair of shoes will be much cheaper than needing knee surgery later in life 🙂 so I would go with whichever one will support your body the best!
i didn’t get a chance to reply to your last post, but super congrats for being in so many newspapers/news sources! that’s surely a great accomplishment that you deserve. 🙂
as for shoes, maybe you could go to a running store and get your running style assessed. then you will know what kind of shoe you need specifically for your feet, and you can try some on for fit and feel. i’m not sure if you’ve tried them on, but i think it’s hard to know how they will work for you via the internet.
i run 3-4 times a week, usually 4-6 miles at a time, when running for fun. however, i’m currently upping my mileage (did 8 miles this past weekend!) to train for my 10-mile race in less than 3 weeks. but i think i’ll be going back to 4-6 miles at a time after my race… long distances can really suck up your time! and in the summer, it might be too hot to run for that long too. and i have to say it… dang, you’re fast!!
I always buy men’s shoes for running. They seem to offer more support!
I haven’t run since my short jog last week, but I’ve definitely been walking. I love the iPod+pedometer 🙂
it’s hard to say which one.. u’ll know for sure when u have them on ur feet. but for me, i’d choose the first one. good luck! xo
When it comes to running shoes I like New Balance. I find they have good support *for me*.

hmm that’s a tough call with the shoes. They seem really similar, but over $40 apart! I would look up reviews to see if the extra $45 is worth it. I bought a shoe that was on sale $38 but those Asics got 5 out of 5 from runner reviews all over the internet!! Make sure your read what individual people say my dear!
I recently began a running plan about 7 weeks ago and I run 4 days a week, average about 20+ miles total. Some weeks less, some weeks more. The goal is to run a half-marathon in…another 4 weeks!! 🙂
I vote for Air Pegasus all the way–I’m on my 4th pair!
I recommend trying both pairs of shoes on (if possible) and seeing what feels best…good luck! Chocolate covered banana sounds delish!
I like BOTH the shoes, but I guess the second pair are my favorite. I just bought a new pair too, and they are New Balance. I use the website “Holabirdsports.com”, they sell shoes VERY cheap!! I would suggest check it out.
I don’t run very often, but in the summer I try to run about once a week, or power walk about 4 times a week. I can’t wait to move because we will be living by a really big park with a nice running/walking path!!
These snacks sound really great. It’s just a bummer I can’t eat them because fruit makes my stomach upset. It’s so sad 😦 I will miss many of my favorite summer fruits this year!!
I’m not sure if you realize it but you’re fast!!!! Most likely a natural born runner!
