You might wonder why I haven’t made bread with my new toy? well… I played with it a little bit making pizza and buns… but no bread yet. And here’s the reason! The great people from Rudi’s bakery spoiled me with four loaf of their bread!!! 😆
I was a happy little girl that day!!! 😉 Okay… first some info about their ingredients that I found very interesting from their website
What we do.
At Rudi’s, we’ve always had a passion for better bread. That’s why we choose ingredients that are simple, wholesome and certified organic. We prefer to make bread the old-fashioned way with ingredients you can pronounce. And we never use any high fructose corn syrup, chemical preservatives, or artificial ingredients.
See for yourself. Here’s what’s in our 100% Whole Wheat bread:
Organic whole wheat flour, water, organic brown sugar, organic vital wheat gluten, organic cracked wheat, organic wheat bran, cultured whole wheat flour, organic high oleic sunflower and/or safflower oil, sea salt, organic oat flour, yeast, organic molasses, organic barley malt, vinegar, natural enzymes.
Here’s what is not in our bread. Ever.
- High fructose corn syrup
- Chemical preservatives
- Artificial ingredients
- (or anything you can’t pronounce) that’s funny 😉
The first one I tried was 14 Grain
just toasted with my hello kitty toaster! 🙂 Can you see kitty’s cute face?
Coco’s review: It tastes good but not very different than other brands of bread that I’ve tried. So, I’d give it a 3/5.
Next: Spelt Ancient Bread
I didn’t know that Spelt was one of the oldest grains in the world. cool!
I had it with Almond Butter, the winning combo for a hearty bread 😉
This one does have some seeds in it. right?
Coco’s review: I really like this one. It’s thick, dense, crunchy and great taste!!! It deserves definitely 5/5.
with almond butter too
Coco’s review: It was my first time trying cinnamon bread. I was skeptical because I thought it would be a sweet bread and I wouldn’t like it. But I was wrong!!! yes, it’s sweet… but not the artificial or high sugar loaded kind of sweet.. but more like sweetness from fruit (raisin in this case). It’s really good. I bet it would taste great even plain! Well deserved 5/5 as well.
Honey Sweet Whole Wheat
It looks and sounds like a perfect bread for sandwich, so I made one for yesterday’s lunch
LC and tahini as spread, spinach, tomato and prosciutto as filling
can you believe that I haven’t made a sandwich for more than 6 month? 😯 Definitely need to make more because it’s so convenient for grab and go meals.
Coco’s review: Again, I didn’t find this one anything special but it was good, mild taste, perfect for sandwich. 3/5
that was my lunch taken to school: sandwich, sunflower seeds, apple and tea! Do you like my tea mug? that is a special edition of Starbucks for Shanghai! 😉
Okay. I need to get ready to work. Last night I stayed up until 10PM working but wasn’t productive. I am just not a night person… I can’t function well at night, specially for work. So, I think I’ll start earlier this morning thank to waking up early again! 😦 Hope you guys have a great Tuesday! 🙂
Q: What’s your favorite type of bread? and what’s your favorite way to eat it?
