I believe…

“I believe that everything happens for a reason. People change so that you can learn to let go, things go wrong so that you appreciate them when they’re right, you believe lies so you eventually learn to trust no one but yourself. And sometimes good things fall apart so better things can fall together.”-marilyn monroe.

I’m not a positive person by nature so I need to focus on being positive in a daily basis. This quote reminds myself something that I’ve always believed, everything happens for a good reason even if at the moment that it happens you can’t see the good part. 🙂

Life with too much snow is tough~~~ I became irritable, upset, anxious, depressed, etc. I need fresh air, I need human contact, I need move other than walking from bedroom to the kitchen, I need life outside!!!  Sorry people, I just need vent out!

Made a stir-fry soba noodles with shrimp, veggies and sesame seed. YUM~

It was done in <15 min, great meal for lunch! 😉

It was sunny outside so I invited Toutou to go for a walk to the near groceries store. It felt soooo good!!! 😀 Few things until Sunday (if I can pull out my car by then)

Brussels sprout is my new fav veggie for stir-fry and YAM to replace Kabocha for this reason.

Look what Toutou brought to me…. her very first homemade bread!

I devoured it in <2 min… so good! Soft and lightly sweetened! 🙂 You’re talented, Toutou!

Another stir-fry with tahini, soy sauce and sesame oil. I’m addicted to this flavor… tahini is the best thing ever! I’ve been increasing its amount from 1 to 2 tbsp, 2 to 3 tbsp and finally 4 tbsp. Conclusion? The more, the better! 😆

very HEAB style 😉

Lastly, purple mousse is BACK!

Perfect sweet ending! 😀

Q: What’s your weekend plan? How are you celebrating Valentine’s? It’s chinese new year tomorrow, all my family is celebrating it in China. I miss them more than ever! My hubby is in Argentina (with my Dad), so no Valentine’s for me either. But I’m not too miserable because I’ll go to a birthday party tonight! 😀 Hope I can bring some Argentinean food picture for you tomorrow! 🙂

  1. I agree, everything does happen for a reason.

That sobe noodle stir fry looks DELICIOUS! 🙂

  2. mmm i love stir fries too! i made one with tofu and quinoa last night, but your soba stir fry looks 10 times better. i’ll be celebrating chinese new year with my family this weekend, but like you, my boyfriend is on another continent, so no valentine’s day plans. enjoy the birthday party!

  3. Your tahini stir fry sounds delicious! I’ll have to give it a try!
No valentine’s day celebration for me but that’s okay 🙂

  4. Im working all this weekend! Im working valentines day 11:30 to 7 but after im spending the day with my mom (aka my favorite person :)) Oh and im baking a bunch too which is also one of my favorite things.

Enjoy your weekend and happy valentines day!

  5. Ahh I LOVE Brussels sprouts!!

Be careful with the yams – they are still very high in beta carotene. If you can find the Japanese yams that are not orange, try them – very very yummy. (Or are those the Japanese ones that you bought? I can’t tell from the skin but they are white on the inside.)

  6. Glad you got and for some fresh air. Being inside can be so depressing!

    We’re going to a dance tonight….

i can easily eat 4tbsp of tahini in a day! too bad it is expensive 😦 i’m going out to eat tonight with my hubby. the restaurant serves only local meats, veggies & cheeses! the dishes are prepared simply and you can bring your own wine without getting charged a corking fee! happy Chinese new year!

  8. The purple mousse looks awesome! My family is in Florida for Chinese New Year, so I am sad and probably won’t celebrate it 😦

  9. I LOVE that Marilyn quote. Love it!

I really wanted to get dim sum today to celebrate Chinese new year, but with all the snow we got, it wasn’t happening. 😦 Maybe I’ll tomorrow if I’m lucky?

As for V-day…I think we may go out for dinner or something. 🙂

  10. I agree, everything happens for a reason! as you said to me before, when we look back several days, years later, we may find what happened before is not that bad 😀

Glad you like my bread!! I am ready to go for second round!
ps: we are having very similar dish every day, I had stir fried noodle for lunch too! haha
happy new year to you too dear!

  11. Yeah, I definitely had cabin fever by the end of the week. 😦 Luckily, I stayed out for the whole day today and a little bit of yesterday. It felt so. good.

Weekend plan = go out to eat at a Chinese restaurant tomorrow. IF we can find a good one nearby… nothing for Valentine’s Day except gorging on chocolate, hehe. 🙂
