Unwelcome opinions & popchip GIVEAWAY!

Thanks everyone for your comments on yesterday’s post! It was nice to be reminded that I’m not alone, I have ALL you guys!!! ๐Ÿ˜€ Love you ALL!

The advantage of waking up at 4.30AM is that you have a long day ahead! My day was long and kind of productive: worked 8 hours + 2 hours seminar + research talking (useless) with my classmates + gym (tried half Zumba class). Kind of boring :(, I know! but this is typically what my life used to be! I didn’t realize until I have to go back into it now. ๐Ÿ˜ฆ

What I found interesting today is the fact that EVERYONE seems to have a opinion on EVERYTHING. I’m the kind of person who doesn’t like to talk about things that I don’t know or I haven’t done any research on. But it seems that this is not the case to most of the people. I talked to few people today about the research I’m doing (I was not asking for advice, just answering their questions) Some were constructive opinions, others were just waste of time (and not encouraging). When you study meticulouly something for a long time, you can easily distinguish who’s taking you seriously and try to contribute. But… don’t worry! I wasn’t rude! I listened and thank them anyway. ๐Ÿ˜‰

Q: How do you react when you receive unwelcome opinions?

Moving into food.

Breakfast: savory oats with microwaved egg, LC and ketchup.

Lunch: asian scrambled tofu (inspired by the broccoli girl‘s recipe)

IMG_1335.JPG

I used broccoli (have a big bag from Costco), yellow peppers, tofu and kimchi. Seasoned with soy sauce, sugar, sesame oil and sesame seeds. It was super easy but tasty!

IMG_1339.JPG

served with brown rice

I haven’t post snacks lately because I either don’t need it or it’s usually fresh fruits. But I’m running out of it, so yesterday I had almond milk & roasted almonds.

IMG_1348.JPG

I came home late after trying Zumba. I’m sorry Zumba lovers, I’m not a big fan. I like the energy in the room and it was fun to shake a little bit, but for someone who just have an hour or less for workout, I’d prefer to do something that pump my heart rate up or something relaxing like yoga.

8.30PM trying to come up something to eat. ๐Ÿ˜•

I used this chinese fermented tofu

for a stir fry for chinese spinach and mushrooms. Served with oatmeal.

kabocha and chocolate for dessert AGAIN! ๐Ÿ˜€

I would love to win popchips!
I would love to create a vegan sour cream and onion chip.

You are on my blog roll!

  2. Mary

I would like to try original ๐Ÿ˜€

  3. Mmmm…your savory oats look wonderful! CAn you believe I haven’t tried them yet? I am still hooked on the pumpkin and pb idea, I need to try them soon though.

As for people giving me advice that I don’t really ask for, I usually just take it and go with it. PEople will give me their opinions about everything, and anything, and that’s fine, because I do it too! Sometimes the opinions are actually pretty decent, other times they are a waste of my time. I just take it as a nice gesture that someone is trying to help.

As for chips, I would make a garlic, pepper, and curry flavored chip! Yes, all mixed together! They are three of my favorite spices ๐Ÿ™‚ I’ll go ahead and add this giveaway to my post for tomorrow, as I have wanted to try these chips for a while now!

  4. That broccoli scramble looks amazing! If I could create a flavor of chips, it would be a vegan “cheese” flavor. I used to love eating sour cream and cheddar chips before I was vegan, so I would try to replicate them. ๐Ÿ™‚

I also added you to my blog roll!

  5. i need to try popchips – I can’t find them here! I would love to have a spicy maple bbq sweet potato chip.

  6. *Andrea*

i must try these popchips – i’ve seen them all over the blogs but can’t find them! i would like a cinnamon sugar flavor!

  7. I definitely understand having to deal with overly opinionated people. Super frustrating!

I would make healthy guacamole flavored chips! Lemony and slightly spicy!

  8. I usually just nod and smile when I get unwanted advice. Opening my mouth would be dangerous! ๐Ÿ˜‰

POP CHIPS! My loves! I would create a wasabi-type flavour for sure!

  9. Seriously? Popchips giveaway? *squeals with delight* exciting! I am obsessed with popcorn so it would be TONS of fun to try a popchip variation. Especially because the nutritionals are pretty decent for a “chip”!

I’d want to try the barbecue flavour especially, I think. And as for creating a flavour… well, I’m all about the sweet/spicy (and healthy!) when it comes to things like chips, so I’d create some kind of date/cumin/paprika mixture. Maybe with a dash of cinnamon just to add a little bit extra. Tasty seasonings with a little bit of sweet. Could be interesting!

  10. Yesss my favorite giveaway ever! I would create cinnamon sugar popchips!

  11. yay for popchips! flavor…chile and lime? cilantro?

  12. I try to take unwelcomed comments with a grain of salt. For instance, my aunt ALWAYS feels the need to add her two cents to EVERYTHING — even when she’s not asked. In this case, I nod and smile.. and half the time just tune her out ๐Ÿ™‚ rude? perhaps.. but in my opinion unwelcome opinions are pretty rude themselves.

ah I adore popchips! my ideal chip would be peanut butter flavored ๐Ÿ™‚ or cinnamon/sugar.. m’mm! I have a huge sweet tooth!

  13. of course you are on my blogroll, honey ๐Ÿ™‚

  14. Menden @ Skinny Menny

That scrambled tofu looks so yummy! And I think you’ve convinced me to try savory oats for breakfast in the morning.

I notice the same thing with my work – everyone seems to want to give me their opinions on my ideas. I used to really take their advice to heart, and listen to what they said, but I’ve found that it’s always best to follow my own instincts!!

    Hope you’re having a great day ๐Ÿ™‚

  15. you got fermented tofu??? So jealous!

Sorry u didn’t enjoy zumba….I think you are a more cardio type, zumba is just kind of dancing with a bit cardio. I normally do 30 min running before that, so it compensate a bit.

Em, for chips- cilantro? maybe, sounds interesting!

  16. AnAppleADay

    you’re on my blogroll!
love kabocha ๐Ÿ™‚ i wish i had an oven! I really really want to try roasted kabocha!! the only thing close to roasting that i’ve done was put in george foreman.. hahaha

I think JALAPENO! but they already have it. hmm
    how about POM flavored?? yUM!

  17. AnAppleADay

wait, was i supposed to leave another comment for each entry?
well, here’s the second one for “you being on my blogroll!”

    love your blog always, coco!

  18. Ivanna

I would have an eggplant parmesan flavored chip–it would be soo yummy dipped in ketchup!

  19. Barbeque chips all the way!!

But more importantly, when it comes to unwelcomed advice…I am like you…I listen to it and try to digest it, but most of the time, I take it with a grain of salt. I do enjoy getting it because it means someone else cares and it makes me think in a different way. I totally know what you mean though…it’s no fun getting it. ๐Ÿ˜ฆ

I read your last post but i was at work and couldn’t comment. I’m sure it’s hard having your momma gone after spending so much time together!! It’s like me a few months ago!! It only means that the next time you see each other again, it will be fantastic!! ๐Ÿ™‚

  20. That almond milk looks delicious! Looks like a thick smoothie!
Since you are not really a fan of Zumba I invite you to try my workouts….please click on my name.

  21. Yup, many people give their opinion on anything and everything regardless of whether they know what they are talking about. Good job staying polite! ๐Ÿ˜‰

My toddler absolutely loves pop chips. How about Sweet Potato Rosemary Parmesan?

  22. i would like to try sweet potato or butternut squash popchips!!! yum!!

  23. cathy

Lays used to have a guacamole flavored potato chip when I was pregnant with my daughter and I LURVED it. It’s been discontinued so I’d say I’d reinvent that one. Weird thing is I hate real guacamole. Hopefully it wasn’t a hormonal thing or I’ll be very displeased with my invention. :^)

  24. You’re already on my blogroll ๐Ÿ™‚

  25. What an awesome giveaway!!! I’ve been unable to find popchips, so I’d just LOVE to try them out.

Hmm… I think a seeded or almond chip would be pretty neat!

  35. Kate

I would create some combination of cheese and bbq chips – both are so good by themselves – imagine if one chip had both flavors!

  36. Danielle

I would create ketchup popchips. Here in Canada we have ketchup potato chips so I bet ketchup popchips would be amaaaaaazing ๐Ÿ™‚

  37. Libby

    Oo, popchips. I’d create a tomato-basil flavor or a maple-rosemary flavor!

  38. Libby

I don’t have a blog, but you are in my google reader!

  39. I would love to make a dill pickle chip with a high quality sea salt. Yum!

  40. Cellabella

For my sweet tooth, I’d probably try to make a cinnamon popchip. I already love their cheddar flavor, but another savory idea would be a parmesan popchip, or lime-soysauce!

  41. Cellabella
