I don’t know if it’s because I express myself not clearly or I sound enjoying too much life in Buenos Aires, a couple of you asked me if I moved to Argentina to stay. No, I haven’t and not plan to. I’m here just for vacation (5 weeks), mainly to spend some quality time with Star (my bf and future husband), do some work (research) and teach a short course beginning TODAY. Life is really BUENO en Buenos Aires as you might have noticed, but to be honest I’m 100% positive that it would be perfect ANYWHERE having Star with me.
Yes, I’m having a luxury life here. Go to fancy restaurants every other day, have a cleaning lady to do laundries and clean the mess that I and Star left, have a driver ready to take me to anywhere, etc. But would I choose this life here in Buenos Aires but without Star? NO!
Yes, life in US as grad student isn’t the fanciest and luxury goes down to near zero. Having to chase my advisors, having to deal with unfriendly professors, doing laundry and cleaning, not sleeping 9 hours a day, etc, isn’t fun. But I would choose that life if I have Star nearby. Because cooking with and for Star is fun, laying down to watch TV with him is relaxing, chatting with him in person, face to face is really heart and mind opening.
Bottom line: No matter where you live, no matter what is the degree of luxury, the quality of life is defined by who you are with! 😀
Now, shall we move to the spa day recap? Remember last weekend we went to the hotel Four Seasons for Sunday Brunch? I was informed that they have a Spa Day package which includes a 25 min facial, a 50 min massage, lunch, use of sauna, relaxing room and swimming pool. It took me exactly 1 min to convince Star to take the offer. So, we went back to Four Seasons last Saturday.
After playing at the pool with Star, trying to stay calm at the hot room (aka. sauce) for 10 min, trying to relax at the relax room drinking flavored water and read the newspaper. I was really for Lunch. The most exciting part ALWAYS!!! 😛 oh…no, no, this is supposed to be a spa day, so maybe the massage and the facial that come later are the main course of the day. Whatever! You guys know me, I’m more into food than anything else. 😀
During lunch we had some good talk, about how we changed during the last 8 years since we first met: my change since I began grad school and moved to US; his change since he was promoted within the company several times; our plan, dreams and our brilliant future. Sometimes, a good chat, even with the person you know well, could be mind opening.
Question: how often do you have deep talk with your significant other?
