Happy Chinese New Year!!! We celebrated as a family of four and it was WONDERFUL!
Last year at the first day of chinese new year, I found out I was pregnant. This year, I got to spend it with this little angel. Can’t be happier!!!

Saturday: I started the weekend with baking. It’s becoming a tradition!
I made a batch of high protein blueberries muffins for my next week’s snack. (recipe to come)

A loaf of german fruity cake for my parents

It’s dense, moisture, fruity and flavorful. My parents love it and keeps telling me that my baking skills is getting better and better.

I got to play with Sofia and couldn’t stop taking pics of her (trying to make up for the weekdays that I can’t take any)

her face is getting rounder.. isn’t it?

even her yawning face is so cute.

And look her latest “outfit”. She’s not starting solid anytime soon (I want to wait until 6 months), but this bib is soooo cute on her.

The chinese new year eve is Saturday so I made a delicious chinese lunch for 3 of us.

spicy sauteed cabbage

sauteed potatoes

red sauced lamb stew

egg tomato soup (for my parents since I can’t eat eggs)

Sunday:
After I workout I found Sofia already awaken, and look how she managed to step out.

Her sleep is changing lately… more on that later.
I went to do groceries and got few new-to-me products

Tj’s turkey burger and yoga apple chips. These chips are amazing…. so crunchy and just lightly sweetened. Love it! So bad that it’s $5 a small bag.
Well…. a treat definitely.

and two theo chocolates. The best chocolate I’ve tried so far… quite expensive too, but they were 2 for 6, so not too bad.
My parents requested “argentinean milanessas“, so I made some. Just 4 main ingredients: breakfast beef, breadcrumbs, milk and eggs.

done in 10 min!

I also prepared my next week’s lunch. Shredded chicken breast cooked in slow cooker (chicken stock, chicken Tsao sauce, Tj’s 12 seasoning and salt).

roasted brussel sprouts and broccoli (coconut oil and brown sugar)

and then we went to have lunch at Asian Delight, one of our favorite chinese restaurant in the area.
Sofia is so alert these days that she rarely sleeps when we go out because she wants to see everyone everything!!!

drooling everywhere too

we ordered crab meat soup

fish and lotus stir-fry (I only ate some lotus, no fish for me!)

broiled chicken with ginger sauce that was really juicy and tender

sautéed chinese greens with tons of garlic

tofu chicken and marinated stew that my parents loved it

When we got home, my friend Sarah came to visit. We had a three hours long tea chat that got me reflect a lot afterward. (more later)

A great weekend full of good food and good company~~~

What a great weekend, and you’re really glowing even as a mom who just gave birth not long ago! You don’t look tired one bit
And omgshhhh..you totally read my mind. Last night as I was going to bed I was craving milanesas!!! and then Argentinean tuco y tallarines. Mmmmm.
Happy new year! And haha, Sophia has company, my little boy loves to break out of the swaddle!
hope it’s just a phase
Also, he doesn’t like naps anymore just like Sophia – just wants to look around. Sometimes he doesn’t even pay attention to us when outside
Happy New Year!
I love all the photos – Sofia is sooo cute!
Have a great week!
Happy New Year’s Coco! May it be filled with many blessings for your whole family!
