Chinese new year celebration!

Yesterday was Chinese New Year. Happy new year to all my chinese readers! :D We celebrated it accordingly by making dumplings!

I haven’t made dumplings nor celebrated chinese new year in the US… it was my first time and it was a lot of fun!

we made a lot of dumplings

I was in charge to make one of the fillings (pork with chinese cabbage)

I didn’t know that I had to… so I didn’t dress up to cook

but I worked “hard” anyway ;)

no one was expert on making dumplings. So there was a hot of discussion on how to make a pretty dumpling

we were all from different parts of China, so everyone shared the new year celebration tradition at home

everyone enjoyed the dumpling-making-event

we also had some takeouts.. but they were not very popular because the dumplings taste much much better! ;)

after dinner… we watched the chinese new year show and had traditional chinese snacks: sunflower seeds, pumpkin seeds and peanuts.
